Turvey World performances



Turvey World Dance in residence at Huddersfield Art Gallery created a series of performances and workshops in response to the four ROTOЯ exhibitions in the gallery from February 2016 until May 2017.

Words are not enough


Installation Video  is one of four videos projected in the  performance installation, during TurveyWorld residency at Leeds Central Library. April 2016

Four Artists for four weeks inhabited the Leeds Library Art Gallery, Room 700 and transformed the space, weaving a texture of dance, video projection and visual art into the fabric of the room. The ideas for this project emerged directly from responses to the library.

Dance in the gallery



Students at Northern School of Contemporary Dance worked with Gerry in the public art trail at the University of Leeds for a week in July 2016.

This film is a response to the wonderful sculpture of Michel Lyons at Stanley and Audrey Burton gallery in the University.

Man made fibres

Gerry was commissioned to create a new dance piece outside the Clothworkers Hall Building to celebrate its 60 year anniversary, and the Sculptor Mitzi Cuncliffe, whose work is embedded at the top of the building.



The University of Leeds commissioned TurveyWorld to create a dance performance to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Mitzi Cunliffe's sculpture 'Man-Made Fibres' and the Clothworkers Hall building. The piece was performed in July 2016

Gerry was commissioned by dance Network Sheffield to create a pice that spanned the city, taking audience from the winter gardens at the top of the city to Sheaf Square by the station at the bottom.


Body Stories at Huddersfield Art Gallery

The Body Stories project spanned over two years and culminated with a residency at Huddersfield Art Gallery from Oct 21th to Nov 9th 2013. This was a collaboration with visual artist Roger Bygott, film maker June Gersten-Roberts and composer Daniel Weaver. Together they created juxtaposition of dance, visual art, sound and film, in an immersive installation. Vanessa Grasse worked closely with the artists to aide choreographic direction.

Visitors to the gallery were invited to share their body stories.

Manchester Art gallery

This was a year long project at Manchester Art Gallery. The culmination was a public performance. This video was taken from below glass footbridge between the old and new buildings. The audience had to look up to see the performers. 2012

Fallen Angels

Fallen Angles was a site specific performance at Holy Trinity Church for the Rhythms of the City Festival in Leeds. the Church has since become a centre for the Arts, as well as a place for worship. Music by Mark Follows.
